All High Spirits flutes are constructed with a uni-body design, which means that they are crafted out of a single piece of wood. The tolerances on each flute are precise and measurable to thousandths of an inch. After the hole pattern and air passages are created each flute is hand sanded, burnished and then sealed with several coats of our specially formulated non-toxic oil.
These flutes are beautiful, and easy to play. The flutes are available in many different keys, woods, and decorative patterns. The soothing flute tones are great to put the kids to sleep or a perfect accompaniment for a campfire. Listen to a flute here.
All High Spirits flutes come with a free “How-to-Play” book and DVD that include fingering charts and flute care. These instructional materials will guide you from never having played music, to creating your own melodies in a very short time.

These flutes come in five or six holes. The six hole flutes are tuned to the key of G. The five hole flutes are tuned to the key of F. The flutes are patterned in the "Plains Indian" style, and made from hardwoods selected for their durability, unique grain, and natural beauty. Flutes come in a variety of different woods. Care & Feeding of Flute:
Re-oil periodically with mineral oil. Break down totem assembly and clean brass with fine steel wool. Reassemble with beveled (a.) part of brass forward. The front of the totem lines up with the back of the front hole. (b.) Re-tighten leather thong securely to avoid movement in totem assembly.

Craftsman Kay Harris is a bit of sage, sand, river, wind and rock, worn and weathered by thirty years of navigating rivers, hiking canyons, and climbing sandstone cliffs in Southern Utah. His flutes are an expression of his love for the Earth. Kay's "trademark" is the circle within a circle. The dark wood is the world we live in, the silver, the player of the flute. Placed off center it symbolizes our struggles in our journey from earth to sky. It is hoped that before we reach the sky, we move closer to center, having found harmony with all of life.
