Yucca Cordage - Making Primitive Rope

September 10th from 1pm to 4pm

Have you ever been caught in the wilderness wishing you had rope or a needle and thread? The Yucca plant can be used to create these items and more. Making cordage is one of the fundamental practices of a primitive skills or survival skills practitioner. Knowledge is your greatest tool.

Learn to:

-Identify the Yucca plant
-Harvest and prepare the Yucca to make cordage
-Two ply reverse wrap cording technique
-Braiding cording technique
-Making a needle and thread

You will need:

-A sharp knife
-Water
-Appropriate clothing
-A pair of leather gloves
-Sunglasses and a camera if you want them

When: October 10th from 1pm to 4pm
Where: Red Rocks Amphitheater
How Much: Suggested donation of $15 dollars

We are meeting at Red Rocks at the Geologic Marker at 1pm.

Go through Entrance 1. Make your first right, make your first right again on Plains View Rd. You will see signs for the Geologic Marker.
